NYE make up inspiration!

2014 is nearly over and it's time to welcome 2015! Thought I'd share a quick post before I'm off out to do my last ever activities of the year...

eyeshadow base - blend orbit all over the lid and ink towards the outer edges.
simmer - blenk 4 and 3 in the same way that you did your base.
line your eyes and add mascara and you're good to go!

Don't forget to wrap up warm if you're going to see the fireworks!

See you next year,
Grace

Christmas Party!

It's officially Christmas Eve and I am in a very good mood because why not?! I've just got home after working (#RetailLife) all day and thought why not do a little blogpost for you all before I take a break from the blogging world over the next few days!

Sparkle Top from New Look £11

I had my work's Christmas Party to go to last week and had to find something to wear, I could find anything and thought I need to go shopping because this will not do! So off I went to some local shops and found this adorable top from New Look! It was originally £14.99 but I manage to grab it up for £11 as there were some promotions going on, there were only a couple of tops left and there my size was no where to be seen so I just picked up the size 10 and tried it on, I thought it might be worth a shot since the top itself look ridiculously tiny... and as luck would have it, it fit perfectly! I think a size 8 (my usual size) might have been a little tight on me so it's a good thing they didn't have the 8s as I wouldn't even think of trying on the 10s. I put this with a plain black denim bodycon skirt from Bershka that I got a couple of week ago for £12.99 so all in all it was a pretty cheap outfit. I'm pretty impressed with myself. Paired this outfit with a long black cardigan to cover my behinds and a pair of ankle boots and I was good to go!

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I will be back in a few days! Try not to miss me too much!

Grace's Great Gifts: Primark Pyjamas

I am one of those people that wear pjs a lot, a little way too often that I'd like to admit. I will come home and change straight into pyjamas, let's just say if I am home, I will be in pjs or some kind of lounge wear so a big haul of pyjamas really doesn't sound that crazy to me...

Checkered set £8 | Bambi set £10
I love checkered pyjamas, I do already have a pair but they are getting old.. like 3+ years old so it's definitely time for an upgrade. These Bambi ones are super soft and fluffy, can't wait to be all warm and cosy in this adorable set! These sets will make lovely gifts as everyone wears pyjamas and everyone love being comfy. They also come with little 'To:' and 'From:' tags so I think that they've made these with it being a present in mind, it's almost like they've done the thinking for you really.

Thermal Socks £2.50
Okay, I know these aren't technically "pyjamas" but I would wear them around the house anyway. I love how thick these are cause I can wear them out with my boots and not worry about cold toes, honestly my feet were so toasty when I had them on. When my feet is warm, the rest of me is warm. I am extremely impressed with these. I also think they are really cute and I am loving that £2.50 price tag as well! May just have to go back and pick some more up!

Penguin Dress Pyjamas £10
I always loved the idea of a onesie but then I think about how I might get too hot and how uncomfortable that would feel and just think 'NAH!'. I saw this cute penguin pyjama dress which could be the perfect alternative for a onesie! It will still keep me toasty but I am well ventilated since it isn't keeping all the heat in all over the place... I also think it will look really cute when you look all sleepy dressed as a penguin. hahaa I know it's just pyjamas and no one really cares but looking cute never hurts anyone!

Super Soft Star Pyjama Bottoms £6

These have got to be my favourite thing out of the whole haul! They are silky furry soft and the colour is just too amazing! In a way they kinda remind me of baby pants and everytime I put them on, I do feel a little bit like an overgrown baby, but a very cosy overgrown baby that loves her PJ bottoms! It can't just be me that think they look like baby pants?

I think any pyjamas would make great gifts for Christmas, especially cause it's always so cold this time of the year! I love the idea of wearing new pyjamas on Christmas day, not only do you get to be super comfy, but it also makes it acceptable to wear pjs all day because they are new and someone bought them for you! It doesn't really matter if they don't like the style of it because most people will still wear it around the house since it's given to them. It's one of those gifts that you can't really go wrong! If you have left Christmas shopping until now, then drag yourself to Primark tomorrow (Christmas Eve!) to get some pjs and I can guarantee you will not regret it! It's better than nothing at least...

Beauty Preperations for Christmas!

Cleanse & Polish by Liz Earleepoch Glacial Marine Mud by Nu SkinMineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator by MACIris Hydrating Masque by WeledaInstant Boost Skin Tonic by Liz EarleSkin Repair Moisturiser by Liz Earle

It's officially the eve of the eve! I like to prep my skin by giving it an intense proper cleaning a couple of days before any big day so that I have time for other things (like eyebrow grooming) the day before the big day.

You need to cleanse your face to start, any old cleanser will do. This will remove any surface oil on your skin and provide a clean canvas for the rests of the cleansers and masks to do their thang!

Use a mud mask to draw out any impurities underneath the skin, all the grit and dirt that you don't see should come right out! So gross but so satisfying, and necessary.

Exfoliating time! Once I washed off my mud mask, I like to exfoliate. The mud mask that I used tend to leave dark mud marks so you need a cloth to wipe off the dirt, it really is no big deal but I like to get straight in with my Volcanic Ash Exfoliator! This is by far the best exfoliator I have ever used, it leaves your skin feeling soft and silky after every use!

After you've put your skin through all of that, it is extremely important that you give your skin some moisturising love! Use a moisturising mask to balance out your skin.

Wash off the moisturising mask with warm water, and then spray toner all over your face to close up the pores. Wipe clean with a cotton bud and you are ready to moisturise and get on with the rest of your day!

How will you be prepping for Christmas?

Gradient Greens & Ombre Reds

Good Evening! It is nearly Christmas Eve Eve and you're probably thinking what should I wear, and what make up to go with your outfit, well fear not as I am here with another look to share with you all! This one is inspired by the Greens and Reds of the festive season!

I'll leave the links of what products I've used at the end of the post.

For the eyes, start by applying the colour 'Fern' all over the lids, this matte colour will act as the base and should hopefully help your shadow last longer. Blend the eyeshadow out to get rid of any harsh edges, this will also create a slight green haze around the eyes. I like to do mine just over my lids so you can see them when my eyes are fully opened. Of course if you have a lot more lid than I do, then you won't need to go over your lids, you lucky buggers. For a gradient green effect, I used two colours, number '12' for the inner parts of your lid and number '6' for the outer edges. Use your brush to go over the two colours when you get to the middle of the lid and this should help create the gradient effect. I also added a touch of number '11' underneath the waterline to add a touch of colour in that area. Line your waterline, and finish off the look with any liquid liner and generous coats of mascara!

Now moving onto the lips! I went for a very slight Ombre lip to jazz things up a bit. Line your lips with any dark berry lip liner, I used Hollywood Red by Maybelline. Draw out your desired lip shape, I just followed my natural lip line because I didn't want to be too adventurous... When you're happy with the shape, fill the middle parts of your lips with a lighter or slightly contrasting colour, I went for 'Kiss Me Coral' by Revlon. You can use a brush or clean fingers to blend, or you can do what I did and use your lipliner to fill out and blend any bits that you might have missed, I think that by doing it this way, the lip liner and lipstick merges to create a sort of 'in-between' colour which makes the Ombre effect even more effective!

I'm am not a trained make up artist so would love any feedback and advice from my lovely readers! Or you could simply leave me a comment with your thoughts to make my day that little bit brighter!

Thank you for stopping by,
Grace

Simple Subtle Shimmer

Hi girls, you may or may not have noticed me uploading a few posts with photos of my Sleek Palettes last night, the reason for that is because I have a few eyeshadow looks I want to share with you all and the photographs will be a good reference. I will leave links at the end of the posts so you can check them out!

To start of with, I used 'Propose in Prague' as my eyeshadow base. I applied this colour all over my lids with a fluffy brush and blend the edges out with my finger. I like using my finger to blend because they are warm enough to smudge the eye shadow, and I feel like I have more control than a blending brush so I know exactly where I'm smudging the product. I then used number '10' all over my lids, without covering the blended smokey edges. To finish is all off, I used my black Super Liner by L'Oréal to create a winged line. Apply mascara ( I should have done at least 2 or 3 more coats here) and falsies if you fancy to create a slightly more dramatic look. I kept the rest of my make up fairly neutral as I was working that day but you could always add a burst of colour on your lips for a dressier event.

This look would be perfect for day to night. If you want something shimmery for Christmas but aren't feeling too daring then this is the look for you! I think that it does look slightly natural because of the bronze colours, so it's almost like doing a bronzed smokey eye but with a touch of shine for that festive feel.

Hope you've enjoyed this post and I speak to you very soon with more make up inspiration!

Grace's Great Gifts: Power Bank Charger

Good Morning! We all have that friend that is always running out of battery and desperately looking out for the next available plug to charge up their phone. Well you can put a stop to all of that if you just gift them a Portable Power Bank Charger this Christmas! I think something like this is always useful to have around, say you wake up one day and you forgot to charge your phone the night before, the horror! Now you need not worry cause you have this (or similar) little battery life savers.

I got mine from a local ASDA store for around £10 a while back and I can't seem to find it on their website but a quick google search will set you up nicely. There are slimmer ones, taller ones, pink ones, orange ones, ones with more power, ones with two USB ports, the list goes on but that doesn't mean I need to! I just think it would be the perfect present for all those antisocial friends, or for anyone with a smartphone, or people with phones that charge with USB cable. That pretty much covers most of the population these days. I sure won't be disappointed if I received another as a gift cause they really are just that handy to have around! :D

I hope you've enjoyed this easy morning read even though it was a little short.

Until next time,
Grace

Beauty Wishlist

Christmas is a time for giving and receiving, we often think about what others want but sometimes it's nice to think about yourself, and what you might get! Now, I'm not saying that I will be getting these as gifts but I will probably treat myself to these at some point in the near future, that is if I haven't already bought them by the end of the post!

ZOEVA ROSE GOLDEN Luxury Set £55
Oh my! From the moment this Rose Gold Set came to my attention, I felt this strange attraction towards them! The feeling like I need them in my life, it just so happens my current brushes are getting old so these could be an ideal replacement for my current ones? Everything about it scream 'beautiful' to me, I just want them so bad it almost hurts! A little bit on the pricey side but I am willing to splash out - that is if and when I can afford to just splash out of course...

ZOEVA ROSE GOLDEN Complete Eye Set £55
This Complete Eye Set came out not too long after the Rose Golden Luxury Set and I also feel like I need this in my life. Although I think that this will remain on my wishlist for a while because I don't think I can bring myself to buy both ZOEVA sets. I. Just. Can't.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer £25

This primer is not so much a wish but a necessity. It was the first and probably last primer that I have committed to! I mean I have tried others since using this one but nothing compares, it is a little pricey but the product is so amazing that I feel like just throwing money at smashbox! Just take my money and give me what I NEED please!

(I may have already bought it)

Urban Decay NAKED Eyeshadow Palette £37

The famous NAKED palette by Urban Decay is one product that I've seen bloggers and youtubers rave about over and over again! I don't know what the hype is all about as I have never ever seen one in real life but I would love to one day hold one in my little hands and call it my own. At £37 a palette, I don't think this will happen soon but no worries cause I have my Sleek Palettes to keep me company for now!

MAC Lightful Cleanser £20

I already have MAC's Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator which is undeniably amazing so I'd like to explore more of MAC's skincare range. The Lightful Cleanser caught my eye when I was browsing, simply because of the packaging, I haven't heard much, in fact I haven't heard anything about this product but if it is half as great as my exfoliator then it's a YES from me!

I think that's it for now

Grace's Great Gifts: Fairy Lights

Oh Good Golly! Is it really 5 days til Christmas?!! I think it is!

I know you probably already have some lovely Christmassy lights all up in your tree but I feel that fairy lights are, like dogs, not just for Christmas! I love fairy lights, I always have and I always will! I don't love them enough to splash out more than tenner, but I love them fondly - if they are cheap of course. So where do you find affordable yet adorable fairy lights I hear you ask?

PRIMARK
of course!

LED PEGS £6

I nipped into Primark the other day to pick up some pjs (blogpost coming soon) and stumbled upon their fairy lights sections! YES! A whole section dedicated to fairy lights... Most of them were around £6, so I could have splashed out on a few different ones, but I thought I'd be sensible and just get one. I think I've chose the best ones, even if I do say so myself. These fairy lights aren't just lights, but pegs too! They are not only really really pretty and adds a relaxing touch to any bedroom (perfect for night time snuggles or watching films), they are also pretty handy for hanging up stuff... Christmas Cards for this time of year, or for a more general use you could hang up photos of friends and family, memorabilia, or even ToDo lists for a more organised you! The possibilities are quite literally endless!

These would stereotypically be a girl's gift but I think that it could make an amazing Christmas gift for both guys and girls! If you know any guys who are into pretty and cool lights then hook them right up with these bad boys! If you are planning on gifting this to someone, I would suggest buying 3 AA batteries to go with it so that they can pop it in and see the full magical effect straight away.

I'm really quite impressed with this find, and even more impressed that it was a find in Primark! Well done me and well done Primark!

Hope you've enjoyed this post ;)

P.S. So sorry I haven't blogged in 3 whole days! To make up for it, I will be blogging twice as much over the next few days! Watch this SPACE!!!

Grace's Great Gifts: Sleek Palettes

I was on the hunt for some new eye shadows for graduation, a friend of mine said I should try Sleek's eye shadow palettes and I was a little skeptical because I thought, why would I buy a whole palette when I haven't even heard of the brand, let alone used or tried any of their products? So there I was browsing through all the make up boots had to offer, and I came across the Sleek section... I was drawn in by the packaging and before I knew it I was looking through all the eye shadow palettes! There was quite a few to chose from, once I opened the ultra mattes palette, I was sold! BUT WAIT! There was a 3for2 offer at Boots so it would be silly not to get three!

vintage ROMANCE palette £7.99
The vintage ROMANCE palette is filled with dark purples and pinks, I've been sporting a purple smoky eye on countless occasions and I tend to get compliments on them every time!

original palette £7.99
The original palette is filled with sparkly shadows, perfect for this time of the year with all the Christmas and New Year parties to go to!

ultra mattes V2 DARKS palette £7.99 (technically free)
I have yet to try the ultra mattes V2 DARKS palette but it looks intriguing, I think I will be using these colours as a base for my eyeshadows, I heard matte eye shadow bases tend to help prolong your eyeshadow wear so I will give that a go!

I think these are all great little gifts, or a nice way to change up your eyeshadow routine! All the shadows are highly pigmented, adding a burst of colour to any look. If you are like me and you are used to natural make up looks then I must warn you that you should perhaps experiment with these colours before you wear them out, just to get an idea as to how these colours could work with each other and also to find a look that you are comfortable with wearing out!

A perfect gift for anyone who likes experimenting with their eye make up or a bold and exciting change to help jazz up your friends' regular eye shadow routine!
