Graduation Ceremony at The O2

Hello there! I know I've mentioned a few times that I have graduated but my ceremony was only last Thursday! The 20th of November 2014 is the day I walk up on stage to shake Lord Patel's hand, and he knew my name! WOT WOT?! Well he didn't really know my name since it was announce right before I walked up to him but ya know, it felt like he knew it... I wasn't the biggest fan of the whole graduating idea given I had already received my certificate via post and it'd cost me £100 just to get the tickets and gown hired but my proud dad wanted to go and I thought I'd do it for him.

on the way there, yes we took public transport but we still traveled in style.... *pause for laughter..... :/*

Barbara Windsor presented with her Honorary Doctorate.

In the end, it was a day all about me! I was wrapped in a lot of emotions on that day. I was happy that my Dad and Aunty came all that way just to support me for one day, I felt prouder than ever to have achieved a degree (even if it is just a photography degree), and I was sad but mostly relieved that a chapter of my life has now come to a close. I am so so grateful to have made few close friends that will always be there for me. Let's not forget the many 'haters' that I will probably (hopefully) never see again, thank you all for being a part of my growth, helping me on my journey to be the person I want to be.

Let's talk fashion and beauty choices. My dress is from Oasis and my little boots are Miss Selfridge. I love the gorgeous royal blue colour on this dress as it is not an easy colour to miss, I think that this dress was perfect for the occasion as most of it was covered by the gown, my dress acted as a nice little colour block to break up the dark glum fabric that is the gown. I didn't have any heels that would go with tights and I was not prepared to bare my legs in this cold weather so I opted for tights and heeled boots. Practical for walking and the little gold detail (link) adds a slight sophistication to the shoe. Can I just say these boots are surprisingly comfy! As for my make up... I am not a fan at all! It was all a little rushed, I had just bought a brand new Sleek eye pallet and decided to go to town with colour. Expectation did not meet up with reality. It's safe to say that I will be practicing various colourful eye make up looks at home so keep your eyes peeled for many MANY experimental looks.

Official photograph should be coming soon!

Halloween Houseparty

I know it is far past Halloween, in fact it's one whole month before Christmaaaassssssss!!!!!! I'm getting all excited because they've just started playing Christmas songs at work, I'm sure I'll be sick of them soon but in the mean time... I thought I'd share my photos with you all, and once again re-live the happy memories of that night spent with my nearest and dearest pals! :D

The theme for the party was to dress up as your fear. Most of my fears aren't particularly wearable for example how do you dress as fear of the general public? So I just put together an "outfit" on the night... I went a bit crazy with the white shimmery eyeshadow and put that all over my face, threw on a velvet skater dress from Topshop and added some wings. Angelina Rose (certified beautician *wink face*) then helped me to put some pretty lashes on, take a moment to appreciate how cute they are... She also helped me blend my make up out a bit as it was literally slapped on and tit was a hot mess. I think I was attempting to achieve a dark angel look but my friend, Graeme said I was a butterfly(?), no one knew what I was but that didn't matter because fun was had! So much FUN!

Improvised Chorizo Pasta

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm a huge advocate of quick and simple meals as I am either cooking before/after work, or on my days off where I'm either super productive and end up having no time OR (probably more likely) that I'm too lazy that I just can not be bothered to spend ages cooking one meal for one... Long story short I don't spend a long time cooking meals these days, which is a shame, or maybe it isn't?
So here's what you need for my Improvised Chorizo Pasta:
  • Garlic and Onions to taste
  • Chorizo
  • Veg (this is the improvised so chose your favourite veggies and pop it in)
  • Passata, or Canned Tomatoes with Tomato Sauce
  • Pasta obviously
  • olive oil, salt, and pepper
  • and CHEESE for garnishing!

Put your pasta in some boiling water with olive oil and salt.

Let your pasta cook while you get on with frying your onion and garlic until cooked. Then add the chorizos and cook for about 10 minutes or so before adding the veg of your choice. I've added celery just because it was what I had in the fridge and I was too lazy (this is a no judgement zone) to nip to the shops...
by now your pasta should be cook so just drain it and put it aside for later.

add in the veg. If you have a few you might want to put them in at different times depending on how long each one might take to cook, but it's not a big deal if you just throw it in all at once :)
When all the veg is cooked, add in Passata and cook until it reaches boiling point. Reduce for about 5 minutes. You don't want the sauce to be too thick as you want it to cover all the pasta.

Add in the Pasta and you are good to go!
Sprinkle cheese, salt and pepper to taste and indulge in your quick and easy meal or meals if you cooked a huge portion(s) like meeeee.

Thursday 6th of November is the launch day of the much anticipated Alexander Wang Collection at H&M!!! Angelina Rose and I went to the Regent Street Store as the queue was a lot shorter than the oxford street store and we imagined the stock would be very similar. We had to queue for about half an hour to browse ladies wear but the menswear section was just kinda a you show up and grab whatever you can! It was the craziest and most exciting shopping experience that I've had so far.. (bearing in mind that I've never been boxing day shopping before)

1st photo: Ladies section | 2nd and 3rd photo: Menswear

I picked up a few things as I thought I've come to far not to do so! The first thing that caught my eye was this crop top, I thought it was so cute and I could wear it over and over again. Maybe even start going to the gym with it? Maybe...

I was a bit swept up in the hype when I picked this up this next item, the Singlet. It looked a lot more eye-catching in the store. I thought I could wear this over a bikini or just wear it as a casual tee, as it is after all 'a casual tee' but got to say I'm not entirely fond of the look or the material as it creases a lot, you can hardly see the details so I'm thinking of returning it as I don't think I would wear this much, or at all for that matter.

I don't know why I picked the Alexander Wang Trophy up but I did! As soon as I opened the box I thought "what a cute shot glass" and I thought I'd have that, but then I realised I should have been looking for the sunglasses instead! I just got so caught up in the cute moment that I lost my senses for a good few minutes!

Last but not least, I got the Scuba Top. I think this was actually one of the first things that I was drawn to but trying it on was a different story. I'm not saying that I don't like it, it's just it does not suit me or shall I say my style as I'm the kind of girl that prefers a baggy jumper and colours over a black slightly corset like one.

One last thing before I go! This Sports bra! I saw this in the regent street store but they didn't have my size left which is a HUGE shame as it is the only thing that I am in LOOOOOVEE with, very gutted about not having this item because, well because isn't it just the coolest thing ever?! I think it is.

Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed the DAY!
Did you pick up anything from this collection? What are your thoughts?
