shu uemura cleansing oil

To be honest, I've never even heard of shu uemura until my housemate Angelina introduced me to the brand. Angelina is a big fan of their products and encouraged me to try this cleansing oil. The sound of a cleansing oil baffles me, I was so scared of using this product especially because my skin tends to get quite oily as it is. I thought to myself, 'why would anyone want to rub oil all over their face for cleansing purposes?!'

The first few times I used this, I was extremely scared, I didn't use it properly. I just popped it on my face, far far away from the eyes and rubbed. It did do a good job at taking my foundation off, but I would still go in with my Liz Earle cleanse and polish to finish up the eyes. Angelina then told me it's okay to use it on the eyes, so I braved myself and rubbed it all over my eyes (and face). I was pleasantly surprised as it just melts away all the make up, including mascara! I didn't have to rub hard and EVERYTHING came off with ease! After using it for over a week, I can safely say that I am now a true converted fan! I use my muslin cloth to get rid of any make up around the eyes, but as it has already been touched by this magical oil, it just glides off. It might even do a better job than my Liz Earle cleanser (I'M SORRY!). My favorite thing about using this is that my muslin cloth looks clean, as opposed to dirty foundation color.

I think this product has been discontinued or is about to be discontinued but you can have a look at all of shu uemura's cleansing oils here. Might have to purchase some for myself now!

Sorry for the lack of photos but it was really hard to photograph myself using this product as my hands would get so oily, and I didn't want to get my camera/phone oily... but just imagine a face full of make up slowly coming off. The area around my eyes were blackish, almost panda-like!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Until next time,
Grace

  3. I've never used oil on my face but I may have to try it if it doesn't make your skin over oily.
