GOOD THINGS | Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser and Purifying Cleanser

GOOD THINGS | Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser £7.99 and Stay Clear Purifying Cleanser £4.99
Hello everybody, I feel like it's been awhile since I did any sort of beauty product reviews lately, just been hauls after hauls after hauls (there are more hauls to come...). There is good reason for this, mainly cause I've been so busy that I just haven't got the time to try out new stuff, I also like to use the things a few times before I write a review so all in all it just takes a little time, but brace yourselves as there's about to be a storm full of posts heading your way!

I was first drawn to the GOOD THINGS brand back when I visited my family up North nearly 4 months ago (oh where does the time go?) and had a little haul in good ol' tkmaxx! I was attracted to it because of it bright packaging. Then the smell, oh my goodness me it was beautiful! The best way to describe it is to read out what it says and imagine the smells, it sounds exactly how it smells... ready?

"Superfruit extracts BLACKCURRANT and GOJI BERRY"

"Superfruit extract MANGO and BLUEBERRY"

Pretty amazing huh! I think so too...

Obviously as you do in tkmaxx, as with any other shopping trips, you check the price. It's always intriguing to see if the tkmaxx "rrp" is accurate, and this time it was delightfully so. The Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser is £7.99 as it is on the GOOD THINGS website but I managed to snap it up for a £4.99. The Stay Clear Purifying Cleanser is £4.99 on the website, and I got it for £2.99. I don't like spending a lot on new products unless they have been highly recommended (mainly by my aunty) or the reviews are just off the charts. These were not expensive to begin with anyway but the fact that I managed to get such a good deal just fills me with bargain cheer!

Here is what the Cleanser looks like, sorry the photo isn't the best depiction of it but it was just so drippy I couldn't take many photos before it got all over the place. It is a clear, almost gel like, liquidy texture that turns into a foamy white formula once you rub it between your hands. You wanna wet your face slightly before activating the cleanser, so you have a damp face to apply the cleanser to. Avoid the eyes. Once the product is on your face, you are supposed to leave it on for 1 minute to let the superfruits get to work. Then rinse off and moisturise. The moisturiser appears like any other moisturiser would so I did not bother taking a photo... sorry!

I love how this smells, and it is very gentle on the skin. Perhaps a little too gentle for my liking as I found it struggled to remove my make up, such as foundation. You should avoid your eyes which is a big downer in my books as I would like my cleanser to be able to remove my mascara and eyeliner. I like using this on those days when I don't have a lot of make up on, like on my days off when I'm not doing anything, this is a nice refresher and gives me that clean energetic feeling. The moisturiser is matifying, however I don't feel like it does much good to my 20 something years old skin so I will be sticking to my Liz Earle!

I  think this would be perfect for younger girls (and boys), especially if you don't wear much make up. The moisturiser might not be great for me but I would like to think that it would be great on more youthful skin as you wouldn't need a strong moisturiser to keep it hydrated. Cause this is so light, I just use it to touch up any dry areas over my make up, I like to keep this in my handbag as sometimes my skin does tend to dry out, especially when I am in a air conditioned environment.

Would I buy this product again? Probably not for myself, but I would purchase it for my 13 year old sister because it is light and refreshing, and smells so intensely amazing!

Hope you enjoyed this post, until next time!

  1. I love the mattifying moisturiser, it leaves my skin moisturised but helps keep the oil away, perfect for my oily skin!
