Hello lovelies! So it's been a few months since I did a life update post, I think last time I did an update it was to share that I've got a new job and moved into a new flat. Naturally there's been a few more changes that I would like to share with you all so if you would like to know what's been happening in my life then please keep reading on.
Let's start with the obvious change, my blog name! My blog used to be called 'Grace Takes Photos' because it was named after my instagram but the blog name along with all my social media platforms have now changed to 'Queen Beach' (logo above). I am really loving the new name because I think that it is much more catchy, memorable and altogether more fun to say. I do love the beach a lot, I grew up in Malaysia and the beaches there are so beautiful! When I first came to England and went to one of the beaches, I was mortified! I mean I still love it but it was just not comparable to the ones in Malaysia. I've not been to very many beaches this year, but I still feel like this name is appropriate. 'Queen Beach' is also a play on words. Not going to say which words exactly but I'm sure you can take a guess! I thought it be nice to keep things child friendly on here.
I've also been thinking about the content of my blog, and I think I need to switch it up a bit! I would love to do more tutorials and outfit posts as these are the types of posts that I enjoy reading the most. I feel like if I'm not excited about my content then who else would be?
I know in my last update, I mentioned that I got a new job working at a private members club for children but that did not work out. I love playing with the kids but it can get extremely exhausting when you are working 10 hour days with a half an hour lunch break and an additional 5 minutes break in the evening. The thing that spurred me on to hand in my resignation was the performing side of the job. I am not a performer, I can do presentations in front of a group but ask me to perform and I panic. I was so stressed out one morning that I could not stop crying, how embarrassing! That was the day I knew that I had to leave the job. I left that job before finding a new one and was unemployed for two weeks...but I had 'The Fear' (as they say in f.r.i.e.n.d.s) to push me to find a new job!
I've wanted a job in administration for a while now, but it was proven a challenge with no experience. It felt like I was going in circles, applying and getting no responses all day err' day. It wasn't until I met a lovely lady called Sophia at my previous job (Oasis Sales Assistant), I told her what I wanted to do next and she passed my details over to her sister who works for a corporate company. I was extremely lucky and manage to land a job a couple of weeks after applying. I now work as a corporate receptionist and I love every bit of it. I love my job, it's a great working environment, located fairly close to my current flat which means I can walk to work and save on travel, and my new colleagues and team have been so lovely and accommodating. I'm also extremely excited because I feel like I am now in an industry where I want to progress, and the opportunities are vast.
I have just created a page on facebook called 'The Bloggers Platform'. I created this page because I wanted to build a community for bloggers by bloggers! I feel like this is lacking a little on facebook and this would be a great opportunity for all of us to interact and engage with each other. We could share our blogs and blogposts, inspire and encourage each other to write new content, and see how things goes. The page is fairly new so not a lot is happening on there but I would really love it if you could pop over and have a look, maybe even give it a like and invite fellow bloggers? I would appreciate this so soo much!
|Here's a cow to represent the page for now...|
Okay yes, the cow is a bit random but since I'm not sure how the page is going to go, I figured it will be a good idea to leave it open. This way all different kinds of bloggers are welcomed. Travel, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, etc.
One final thing before I end this post. I've been thinking about Youtubing for a while now, I've been wanting to do it even before I started blogging. I just feel like videos show a lot more details when it comes to tutorials. It's more engaging and more of your personality does tend to shine through. However, having said that, I still think that it is a massive step from sitting behind my laptop and typing up a blogpost. The whole idea is a little bit daunting. Think the biggest fear for me is that absolutely no one will watch the videos, or worse so hate them? Anyone else feeling this way, or is it just me?
I think that is all the updates I have for now, thank you for reading and I will be back soon with another post!
