Olympia Beauty Show | Haul and Mini Review

Good evening everyone, hope your weeks are going a lot quicker than mine as I feel like mine is dragging on and on! I'm not particularly impressed with the clocks going back because it just looks like night time by the time it's 4... Not cool! But it is finally Friday so let's stop the complaining and get on with the post. A few weeks ago, myself and Angie Walks went to the Olympia Beauty Show (read more about it here) and bagged ourselves a few bargains so I thought I'd share with you a couple of things that I've been loving so far.

First up is this cuticle conditioning oil with milk and honey from Cuccio. I can't say I am particularly fussy when it comes to cuticle oils but I have really been liking using this for the last few weeks. As you can see, it comes in this adorable circular bottle with this syringe applicator (not sure what its called) to pick up the product. The bottle also has an extra flat side so that you can have the bottle sitting on a slight angle. I am not entirely sure how useful this is, it seems a little gimmicky and kinda cuts out some space where more product could have been in. Having said that, I do enjoy having the bottle on it's side, I'm not sure why but I am pretty amused with it's matrix-like pose. Can't remember how much I paid for this but it should be less than £5, which is fab cause this will last me a long time!

The next thing that I used was the Glam Lac UV gel polish in the colour Harmony. I got these for £5 each, which was an absolute bargain. Though I do like their colours and it does do the trick, I feel like the quality of these polishes aren't that great because they were chipping after about 5 days or so. I remember my Sensationail polish was not really chipping and the reason I took it off  was mainly cause I was bored of the colour and my nails had grown out. I probably wouldn't repurchase from this brand again as I feel like there are better brands that I'd like to try out but I will be using my current colours with joy!

I've also used some of the products to remove my UV gel nails but I thought it's best to just to a 'how to' blogpost instead of including them in here.

Hope you enjoyed this post and wishing you all the fun for Halloween weekend!

Until next time,

A Big ASOS Haul!

It's not everyday I decide to splurge over £100 from my hard earned cash on ASOS... So when I do, I feel like I am obliged to share my purchases with y'all because we all know sharing is caring!

1. Misguided Shift Dress 2. Michelle Keegan Dress 3. ASOS YES Crop Top

You are going to laugh when you hear my reasoning behind buying this dress. Now, I've been wanting something suede for a while now and when I saw this, I thought great! But since Halloween is round the corner, I thought that this could be my costume, and I can dress as a sexy cave woman! When I tried it on, it did look like I could be a sexy cave woman however I don't think that I will wear this dress after my Halloween endeavours so I thought it's best that I save myself some pennies and return this.

I have had my eye on this dress for quite a while now, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! It is made out of this textured material and has a lovely folded waist design (click the link for more photos) that really accentuates your waist. I think this would be great for formal occasions such as a job interview because of the length but as it is quite figure hugging, it would also be great for a dinner date and a few drinks with the girls. Could be one of my day to night dresses! Love it and keeping it.

I have been trying my best to focus on more positive things in my life, and what's more positive than the word 'YES' in capital letters and jazzy font? I just think this is a great tee to wear with anything really. After all, one can never have too many t-shirts! I might however exchange this for a smaller size as there still seems to be a lot of this left on their website, the one I got is a little baggy but stiff at the same time, so the sleeves does not sit nicely on me.

4. ASOS Bodycon Dress 5. ASOS Double Layer Cami 6. ASOS Pencil Skirt

The next dress I got may look like it is very similar to the Michelle Keegan dress because well it kinda is. There is very slight difference in terms of the cut but it's material is jersey, which is far less formal than the other. I would say that I will be able to wear this dress out quite a few times just for the simple fact that it is black. In fact, I have already worn this out once and you can see me in it here!

I absolutely adore this China Blue print and I've had my eye on a few things during summer but I never really wanted to splash the cash so when I saw this gorgeous printed top in the sale, I just could not resist. I love the fact that it is double layer because it gives me that extra coverage that is just so practical, I mean I could even go braless without having to worry too much about my nips showing. this top fits like a dream, so I am never worried about the straps being too long or the neckline being too loose. If you hadn't notice, I am quite worried when wearing camis, but I have no worries when it comes to this one.

Oh look! A full priced item! I wasn't sure weather to get this or not since it was not in the sale, however I thought that this is something that I will be able to wear over and over again, and it will come in handy if ever I had a job interview. The material is something between a jersey and something slightly more formal, so I could even wear this for a casual evening out too!

7. Happy Jackson Bag

This last item was kinda something I just bought to make my order over £100 so that I could get free next day delivery but I also thought it might be a good idea to have a lunch bag so I can fill it with other treats or fruits, and just generally more food to encourage me to eat more, and more importantly be able to fill this bag with healthy snacks so that I am eating more healthily too. I do love this bag and I am generally a fan of Happy Jackson but this just isn't the right size and my lunch box will not fit in it so it is not what I need so I will be returning this indeed.

If you have been doing the maths and have been wondering why it does not add up to over £100 then it is because 1. You are super clever and 2. I bought a gift for a friend and can't post it up on here just in case she see's!

That's it for now. I really wanted to take photos of my trying on the stuff but I've been so busy that I never got the chance to do so AND it's been getting so dark so quickly that there is just not enough light... so I do apologise. I hope you enjoy this post nonetheless and I will be back with another post very soon!

Until then,

New Kicks from NIKE!

Hello hello! If you follow me on instagram (@the_queenbeach), you will already know that I have treated myself to some beautiful brand spanking new trainers from NIKE! I think these are probably the first pair of proper trainers that I own in my adult life so do forgive me if the term 'New Kicks' is no longer hip and relevant... hahaa! Anyway, I just thought I'd share a few photographs of them because I am absolutely in love with them! These are the women's Kaishi Run trainers, and they look quite similar to the Roshe One trainers which I was originally planning to buy, but when I saw that these little beauties were on sale, I just had to buy them! The Kaishi Run has that little extra bit of detailing in comparison to the Roshe, its still quite plain and simple at the front of the shoe so it means my feet doesn't look like a clown's when I am wearing them. These shoes are made for running so they are very light, and extremely comfortable!

The one advice I will give is to buy your own size!! I've always been brought up with the myth that trainers always always fit one size bigger. I am normally between a UK size 4 and 5, so the logical decision is to purchase size 4.5 or even smaller for that matter. However, though they do fit and are still comfy, I really wish I had got the size 5 as it would have given me that little extra space which would have been even more comfortable! Sadly, the size 5s have now sold out and I am literally face palming myself in all kinda of directions. I think I will definitely get a different colour if I see anything I like (in the size 5!), or if the black and white one comes back in stock then I will exchange mine for those instead. So fun fact I learnt today from chatting with one their online advisors is that the AMAZING thing about NIKE is that they will accept your return and refund you your money for any reasons within 30 days, so if the shoe literally doesn't fit, then you can send them back with the confidence that you will get your money back! How great is that? It's made my day.

Hopefully you enjoyed this post, I'm trying to keep the writing to a minimum but I just have so much to say! I'll try harder next time...

Until then,
